Yeah it’ll go down if your shot placement is absolutely perfect, but if it isn’t then that animal is never going to be found, and will probably suffer a slow and painful death. I don’t understand why there’s a need to prove that a subsonic load will work on medium game. 223 is unethical for deer, when it will perform an order of magnitude better than any 300BLK subsonic. It just sorta boggles my mind that a lot of people will say that. Because if one is not willing to put forth the effort to make sure that they can take a good clean kill shot, with proper bullet design and complete understanding of bullet drop and ones own limitations. Both had only about 2-4 drops of blood nearby. I found very little blood and after 2 days of looking did not recover either deer.
